From showcasing climate action to taking ambition to the next level, climate events provide space for knowledge exchange and discussions to strengthen the Paris Agreement’s implementation.
The Madrid Climate Change Conference brings the world together to consider ways to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Agreement. The Conference comes at a time when new data shows the climate emergency is getting worse every day and is impacting people’s lives everywhere, whether from extreme heat, air pollution, wildfires, intensified flooding or droughts.
COP25 MadridThe central purpose of the 2019 Climate Action Summit, hosted by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, is to boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement, and to showcase countries’ concrete and realistic plans to enhance their nationally determined contributions by 2020 and to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
Climate Action SummitThe UN’s Youth Climate Summit is a platform for young climate action leaders from more than 140 countries and territories to showcase their solutions at the United Nations and to meaningfully engage with decision-makers on the defining issue of our time.
Youth SummitSeizing the opportunity of the climate action momentum, the Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2019 will boost the region’s response to the current climate emergency, with discussions on energy transition, industry transition, infrastructure, cities and local action, resilience and adaptation, and nature-based solutions.
Asia Pacific Climate WeekThe Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2019, hosted by Brazil, will demonstrate increasing climate ambition across the region, from technical discussions to thematic dialogues. The results of the event will feed into the outcome of the Climate Action Summit organized by the UN Secretary-General on 23 September in New York.
Latin America Climate WeekThe central purpose of the Abu Dhabi Climate Meeting is to take stock of progress so far across all the Action Areas of the Climate Action Summit, and identify and develop proposals, based on the criteria established for initiatives to be considered for announcement at the Summit.
Abu Dhabi Climate MeetingThe Climate and SDGs Synergy Conference (Copenhagen, April 1-3), organized by UN DESA, UNFCCC and the Government of Denmark, will strengthen the link between the global climate agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, identifying key areas to mobilize action, resources and investment to better serve the implementation of both frameworks and leave no one behind.
